Sep. 16th, 2010 @ 04:52 pm Help Me Get My Groove Back
So I lost all my mp3s in successive computer and then iPod failures, but now I have a shiny new phone just aching to be penetrated with some crunchy grooves.

I've got a bunch of songs I have in mind to download, but what I want to ask all of you is: what are your favorite albums, taken in their entirety? As in, you put the album in and listen through it beginning to end, skipping as few tracks as possible.

Also very into big DJ mixes - thedigitalist.co.uk does a fun electro set, any essential mix from BBC radio 1.

Anything at http://www.earvelvet.com :-)

thump puts together some of the bests sets, if you like house, electro, and a fair amount of retro remixes.

Okay let's see...

The entire diskography of Dragonforce. That'd be Valley of the Damned, Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage. ... Oh they have a new album, I'mma gonna have to check that out.

Other than that I mostly listen to single tracks, or indie stuff, or colaboration albums...

Bound Together and Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption are my favorites there.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, there's another album I listen to all the way sometimes. It's Daft Punk Alive 2007. I think it's a live recording of one of their concerts, and they mixed together a bunch of their songs. Very nice.

Oh yeah I also forgot two others, now that I'm looking in my folder. It's been a while so I didn't remember right away. Two albums, Time and Out of the Blue. They're both by Electric Light Orchestra.

I'd have to say the most recent album I've got that I love listening to in it's entirety is the latest from The Prodigy, Invaders Must Die. I'm sure if I thought about it though, I bet I could come up with a load more :)

I know how that goes... a little too much *scurry* to not enough *flop*. Hope you enjoy them, and by all means, once you start hungering for more, you should post some of what you like and dislike to get the ad-hoc mechanical Turk recommendation engines flowing. ^^

(Permanent Link)
That's a really hard call... but I'll try! *scritches yer furrrr*

First, here's a few with *nearly* all... I can do these with all but one track:
Led Zepellin - In through the out door
Bowie - Changes one bowie
Queen - A night at the opera
Enya - Shepherd moons

Now here's a few that have it ALL going from top to bottom:

Beatles - Abbey road
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Pendulum
Electric Light Orchestra - Balance of power

There may be more, but that's off the toppa mah hayd... :}

I somehow missed this entry 'til Kit and Trey mentioned it. Had to come back and comment! :)

Hard to pick ones where I listen to the whole album. Especially since I generally buy tracks these days. But I'll offer just a few:

The Wall by Pink Floyd

B.P.Empire by Infected Mushroom

Hack by Information Society (yes, really! Love this one.)

The Seduction of Claude Debussy by Art of Noise

Are You Shpongled? by Shpongle (the last track is wonderful environmental stuff)

Made From Technetium by Man or Astro-Man?

Do compilations count?
The Food Album by "Weird Al" Yankovic
